We're ba-aack!

The Laser Blast Film Society returns from a two month hiatus with our 2nd annual tribute to the YTV programming block of the 1990s: DARK NIGHT!

Starting at 7:00 p.m.:
PJ Paul McGuire and PJ “Fresh” Phil Guerrero will once more join Laser Blast hosts Justin Decloux and Peter Kuplowsky to take the denizens of The Royal Cinema on a nostalgic and nightmarish descent into all manner of traumatic children's programming, including episodes of  Are You Afraid Of The Dark?, Eerie, Indiana and vintage commercials courtesy of RETRONTARIO!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL:
Following this marathon of 90s nightmares, The Laser Blast Film Society will also be screening a children's film that undoubtedly terrorized its target demographic upon its release: LADY IN WHITE!

"LADY IN WHITE tells a classic ghost story in such an everyday way that the ghost is almost believable, and the story is actually scarier than it might have been with a more gruesome approach.... [An] insidious atmosphere." - Roger Ebert

"A good ghost story...done so with grace, class, and a lot of heart." - Daily Dead

Lady in White is the perfect film to stumble upon on a chill October evening. The film begins on Halloween in 1962 when a young boy (a prepubescent Lukas Haas) catches sight of the ghost of a murdered girl and soon finds himself being stalked by the girl's killer while being instinctively pulled toward the home of the mysterious 'Lady in White.'

What follows is a potent mix of supernatural horror, Spielbergian nostalgia, some smuggled-in progressive polemics and a shocking children-in-peril suspense that only a legitimate “child-murdering” antagonist can provide.

Independently produced as a passion project by writer/director Frank LaLoggia, Lady in White was quietly released in theatres before languishing on home video shelves for years.

It occasionally popped up on children's television blocks and unwittingly traumatizing a generation of tykes, but now, following its recent Blu-Ray re-issue, the LBFS is proud to return this sublime seasonal spook'em-up to the big screen!

We guarantee that you will not find a better Halloween treat this year.
